First Pics
In addition to the farm pictures, I walked around the farm and clicked a few shots with my new toy, a Nikon D40, which arrived today. I’m still familiarizing myself with all the buttons and knobs, so most of today’s pics were snapped using full auto or one of the Digital Vari-Program modes. Even so, I was pleased with most of the pictures, and I was especially fond of this one, which I titled aptly, “Front Porch Flowers.” Okay, so I need to work on originality when it comes to naming my photographs, but first I’ll work on learning how to use my new camera.
I’ll be honest with you, the software that comes with the camera is a bit stalkerish. Once the pics are downloaded into PictureProject, you can click on “Information” about each picture, and, viola!, more information than you ever wanted to know pops onto a sidebar list.
For example, the program revealed more information than I could possibly need or want for this simple shot of a flower on my front porch. (Having read much of the Nikon D40/D40X for Dummies book over the holiday weekend, I actually know what a lot of this stuff means now!). Here’s the list:
